Impressive detail to animation and high production values cannot make this junk a compelling experience. In fact this self-adoration the visuals betray, this making- everything-pretty-and-shinning is one of its very problems.

The plot is simplistic junk that one doesn't even meet in third-rate shonen series and the characters one-dimentional. They look asif they are made for 12 year-olds by only focusing on the 'coolness' and 'badassery' instead of any dramatic depth and the game certainly didn't lack any.

Nowhere is to be found the humor and the rich world of the original game and the finale is absolute non-sensical and juvenile optimism.

A wonderful game's mythology is ruined more and more with products like these which are insulting to the intelligence of all those gamers who appreciated Final Fantasy VII.

This is ironic when the same company that made the game also made the movie adaptation and they too fail to know what makes a movie great. Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children has no plot and should have been a video game instead.

The first problem is that the movie gives a very useless recap of the events that happens in the legendary video game Final Fantasy 7 and alienating audiences who never played the game.

If you never played the video game you'll have no idea what's going on or who anyone is. You'll most likely laugh at the fact that antagonists are looking for "Mother" that they keep mentioning their mommy throughout the movie.

Now if you have played the video game this adds nothing to the mythology and it's a huge letdown that most of the characters have little screen time.

Nearly every character was pointless in the movie and added nothing absolutely nothing to the plot, it's the reason I almost quit watching it.

Now the most pathetic thing about this movie is that half of the movie is nothing but action scenes which wouldn't be a problem if the first half had any salvageable storyline that explained what was going on.

The only positive is that it provides some pretty cool actions scenes, but violence alone doesn't make it good. Simply put the plot will leave any viewer empty of any entertainment.

The visuals are decent and are a feast for the eyes when you see violence. The cinematography is not that bad either, there's some really some great shot to be seen.

Whatever you do, don't watch this movie in English. The dubbed voice acting ranges from bad to horrible; this could explain the lack of plot and dialogue.
