This new "grinchmas" edition is a huge improvement. It has been re-mastered. The only down sides to this re-issue is that there's no DVD Disc But there is a digital copy and there's no new features.

So those extra scenes that have been seen on ABC Family, still have not made their way onto disc format. The picture quality imporvement is well worth the re-buy.

Not only is the unique element of the story still there, but the silver screened edition adds more plot on many subjects.

Most importantly - the Grinch's origin that explains his hatred and disgust for the Whos and their beloved holiday. Some will argue that this either perverts a classic or dulls it's shine.

She likes green creatures! She seemed to enjoy it very much but thought the Grinch was a bit too angry and sinister I think she expected a much brighter and happier film, and even at the finale when the Grinch redeems himself it's not particularly bright or colourful.

Shame really. There's no taking away from Carrey's wonderful and zany performance though and my daughter and I only seemed to enjoy it when he was on the screen.

Verified Purchase. Both the DVD and the Blu-ray previous releases had a fuzzy or soft effect to the image since it was on both I assumed this was normal.

Apparently it wasn't because this 4K Edition is crisp and clear and the details are dazzling. The special features are carried over from previous versions, but again this sound quality and image quality is worth this upgrade.

It must be said however that it is missing the scenes that were edited in for the TV version. So if you're familiar with the TV version of this film you will notice some scenes are missing.

There are parts of the movie that are not included on this DVD. The Christmas lights contest is one of the missing scenes.
