It's just a fun movie. The story line is plausible, the various hidden facts that come out little by little not really out of the range of possibility, etc.

The merits of this film have long since been reviewed by others. This is about the delicious Debra Messing--as an actor, not a beautiful red-head.

She is fine playing the gorgeous single girl. But she's also unsure of herself and decisive, as the occasion requires.

She's frantic, hurt, angry, and klutzy. Yes, Messing is unafraid to be awkward and foolish-looking.

This is talent, but maybe more importantly, it's bravery. And it's very funny. There's just no telling what she'll do next.

Fun, Romantic, England, what more do you need? This isn't the best film out of Hollywood, but it does what it's supposed to do: be entertaining and lets you enjoy some time watching a film, hopefully with someone you love.

Debra and her leading man area fun together. He's a charmer who looks great in anything he wears. She's a lovely woman obsessing over what she should in order to please others.

In the end, they find joy in being together. Set in and around England's London and countryside, this film is a great way to spend some time.

I just saw it tonight and I thought it was really great. It seems to me that "happily ever after" is the sugar pill, placebo if you will, of Hollywood; and the public soaks it up.

Now mind you, this film wasn't nitty gritty in any way shape or form; but it did touch on some serious issues. People are flawed; people are messed up.

Nobody is perfect, and despite this fact, we insist on finding that "perfect person". Whatever your criteria, were so image obsessed that what looks perfect on paper isn't what it actually seems.

Nick is a high priced escort a profession low on the totem pole and Kat is barely making ends meet working for an airline.

They are not perfect by any means, and neither is their relationship, and neither are the other people in their lives that makes the film.

They wouldn't be who they were, were it not for their past experiences and choices. Whether good or bad; its who they are.

Do you walk away from someone because of that fact? Do you walk away from someone because of their mistakes? Life is full of lessons; but its not a lesson, and its not a full life, if you never learned from it.

Overall I enjoyed this, easy watching bit of a chick flick! This is a delightful romantic comedy and delivers all the standard requirements for this type of film and then some.

Firstly, the two main characters - Nick and Kat - are both gorgeous and likeable. By the end of the film you care about them and want things to work out.

The supporting cast are also very good - notably Sarah Parrish as Kat's outspoken and raunchy cousin and Peter Egan as Kat's very loveable stepfather.

Secondly, its a good story - Kat is still single after a bad breakup with Geoffrey, who is to be the best man at her sister's wedding - and Kat can't face going alone.

So she hires Nick to pretend to be her date. Yes, you can see where its going already, but its worth the journey - Nick and Kat are very funny together and the romantic scenes are satisfyingly romantic.

The backdrop to all this is a very upper middle class wedding in a sunny and green England. The music for the film also deserves a lot of credit - both the song selection and the score are delightful and add a lot of warmth to what is a film with real heart - its not afraid of showing Kat's devastation and struggle and some serious issues are explored and not lightly dismissed.

Some suspension of disbelief is required, but its forgiveable in what is a truly delightful and entertaining film.

One to keep and bring out for a girl's night in or to curl up on the sofa and watch when you need cheering up. Stated this was for region 2 Europe generally but it would not play on either of my two DVD players and not even on my neighbour's!
